Have recently decided to switch to mainly carp fishing,I have the carp rods, baitrunners, rod pod, landing net etc but struggling as to what to get for the buisness end ie rig tubing, leader line, hooks etc any advice much appreciated.....cheers
ello there to start with just keep things real simple id say, as far as terminal tackle everyone has their preferences and i can only share with you mine which is as follows...my main hook of choice is the drennan specialist barbel which is basically an esp raptor big t i think, i personally have not had one let me down(yet)...(stay well clear of the fox series 2s) as for hooklink/rig material i am very fond of korda supernatural its well behaved and looks good on the deck. as for tubing etc i use leadcore at the mo (20lb gardner plummet) but its best to check if the venues you are fishing allow it, a good alternative is the esp anchor tube, its very heavy and pins everything down nice, as for lead set ups either inline leads or swivel leads on safety clips are a good starting point.... dont forget the carp care either, korda/thinking anglers do a good antiseptic kit. hope that was a bit insightful, maybe it wasnt...i dunno
I do have 1 tip! Never buy readymade hair rigs, because they cost around 2 quid each and you cant dictate what size hair u want, i have just started making my own hairs and it saves me a bucket load of money!
